Since I can remember, I have always been in love with pastel colors. Every year I looked forward to Easter knowing that I will be surrounded by baby blues, mint greens and soft peachy hues, be it at our local Kmart or the gorgeous outfit my mom and grandma meticulously put together for me.
Most associate pastel palettes with the 80s, Easter, babies and chalky candy hearts. However, as of late we are seeing these colors everywhere: interior design, fashion, food, makeup, I could go on and on... I personally am SUPER excited about this comeback, for obvious reasons (note this website's mint green theme).
This trend is so relevant again because now we are seeing the powder blues, pinks and greens paired with edgy metallics giving it a "now" vibe. Even in the designs that I've been creating at work lately, they are highly influenced by pastel color schemes. What I find interesting is the juxtaposition of something retro (pastel colors) with something modern (clean lines and geometric shapes). Here are some stuff that have caught my eye.
So, there you have it. My obsession with pastel colors, est. 1990. Let me know what pastel-colored things tickle your fancy.
